JPaul Posted May 24, 2001 Posted May 24, 2001 Hi Justine, forget inner /outer joins in the FMPro files: FileMaker does not support SQL statements in .fp5 files; for plug ins accomplishing (evenctually) this job take a look at www.profdata.nl or at the plug ins section on FileMaker official site. If you clarify your concern i may provide you some help. Bye & greetings from Holy Lands.
rm24 Posted May 25, 2001 Posted May 25, 2001 Hello, I have been gettting some mixed answers in my search to find out if (like Access) there is a way to directly query FM Pro 5 DB's using SQL statements. I heard there is a plug-in that will allow this but have yet to come across it. I am also having trouble manipulating find requests (there are two) to show the two resulting records (both from the same DB) at the same time (as if the values were in the same record). This seems to work using a SQL inner join that joins the DB I am querying to itself in Access, but...the question arises about if I could use SQL in FMPro 5. If not, is there some other way to do this by using a Script or something? Thanks in advance, J -
rm24 Posted May 25, 2001 Posted May 25, 2001 JPaul, The website you referred is a great resource! It's just the info I was looking for. Thanks, J-
