Problems printing portals

Featured Replies

I am having a problem with printing multiple 5 row portals on a one page report. In browse and preview mode the lines between portal rows show up, but when I go to print, I get a intermittent line which seems to be interupted by the fields themselves. Has anyone seen this scenario before and more importantly, can you offer advice as to how I can get a solid line to print between the records in a portal?

Do you have anything set to slide? I'm wondering if the portal and some fields might be trying to slide, while others are trying to stay put. This might cause them to get out of whack.

Portals can be a bit of a problem to print nicely. You could try turning off the portal border lines completely, and then manually draw a line across the bottom of the portal row and see if that works any better.

Thanks for the response. That is the solution that works the best.

I only wish portals could work better on the printed page. When combining data from multiple sub-databases into one report, it is the only way I can think of to accomplish the end result.

Yes, in that situation, there isn't any easy alternative to printing portals. The good news is that portals do seem to print better in the newer versions of FM than they used to.
