I have a relationship between two databases. One getting information from the other for auto entry on new form. FM takes information off the oldest matching record on auto entry. How can I make it automatically get the information from the latest matching record? Thanks! Brent Vinton

Hi Brent,

The default order for related records (when accessed via the relationship) is record creation order, but you can specify any other order you choose by applying a sort to the relationship.

To get the effect you're after, I suggest that you create a recordID or serial number field in the related file, then go into the Define Relationships dialog for the relationship in question and enable the checkbox labelled 'Sort related records' near the lower right, then specify a descending sort on the serial or recordID field in the related file. That will do it. wink.gif
