Loading a picture from the net

Featured Replies

I have a db set up in 5.5 that generates a web address for sequentially named filenumbers.

Is there a way (while connected to the internet) to open the web address in a container field and then save that picture the the hard drive?

You can use the Open URL script command to open any location in your browser - then it's pretty easy to save to disk...

i know you can do that but that doesn't help me.......because there are hundereds to thousands of pictures (from a webcam)

i need for there to be some way to load the picture into fm

i'm looking for this to be done in at least one script too.......if plugins are needed does anyone know which?

Hmm... you've got me, but I think you may be on the right track when you suggest a plug-in would be needed. Perhaps you might try to ask about this in the plug-ins forum, and see if anyone there has any ideas.

I'm 99% sure that someone has posted an example of this recently but I can't for the life of me find it or remember who posted it! Sorry - not much help I'm afraid but I'm sure it is possible.

Maybe the person who posted it can let us know where the example is??

Thanks

Ed
