Sorting Data fields within a single record

Featured Replies

Greetings,

I have been tasked with creating a new mutual fund profile in a relational dbase format and I have completed about 90% of this project. My last problem is dealing with sorting sector data per mutual fund(as you will see in the attachment) and displaying the top 5 sectors. The issue lies in how the data is exported from Principia (financial software). Each sector (from the raw data) is turned into its own field on import. It would be easier if I could just have a generic sector field and then each type of sector (Energy, Utilities, Telecom . . .) be its own record. Sorting would be a snap then. BUT, I am curious to know if there is a way to sort, or rank, the sectors according to the top 5 WITHIN a single record.

This data will be displayed in the join table or Fund Profile.

Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated!

Jon
