March 7, 200421 yr Is there a way to have one layout window one size and the other 2 layouts the same? My help layout doesn't need to be that big plus I wanted to add a Menu layout. I know about the Minimize/Maximize commands but those are too extreme. Thx
March 7, 200421 yr Aragorn: If you're on the Mac, you can use AppleScript to set the size and location of the window. As far as Windows is concerned, I don't know, but there's got to be something. -Stanley
March 7, 200421 yr In FMP 6 and earlier you'll need to use a plug-in (Window Utility?) to get reasonable window functionality in Windows OS (no pun intended). IMHO anything but "all windows maximized" sux. Rumours are that FMP 7 will be better in this regard.
March 8, 200421 yr David McKee has a free plug-in for Windows, Display Toolbox: http://www.geocities.com/SiliconValley/Network/9327/plPLUGs.html But it's pretty old. There are others, but they are not free. This one seems to do the most: http://www.practicemaker.com/WindowUtility.htm
March 8, 200421 yr I downloaded two plugins from David McKee (File Toolbox and Display Toolbox) and unfortunately couldn't get either of them enabled on my computer. Win 2K Pro, FMPro 5.5 & 6.0v3 Dev. Perhaps they are more compatible with older versions of FM though. Shame, cos they looked useful & I love free stuff cheers, Wendy
March 11, 200421 yr Wendy: Obviously, this has been fixed in FM 7 - you can resize your windows natively now. -Stanley
