Sorting script with a fixed sorting order

Featured Replies

Hello,

I want a script which have a fixed sorting order. The problem I have that do I different sort order manually my script is using the last sort order.

What I want is as script that goes to the layout "list" and sort first by "customer" and than by "project number"

Hopefully there is someone who can help me!

Greetings Jukkie

Version: v6.x

Platform: Windows XP

Hi jukkie,

Go to your "list" layout in Browse Mode.

Sort manually by "customer" and "project number".

The go to ScriptMaker.

Edit your script.

Click OK to exit Script Definition.

You'll be presented with a dialog that the Keep or Replace your Sort Order.

Choose "Replace"

Click OK and Done to exit ScriptMaker.

Your script should now remember and always sort on "customer" and "project number".

(Note should you upgrade in the future: In FileMaker v7, the Sort script step allows for direct editing of the sort criteria, rather than using the above "remember last sort" method.)

Good luck,

Andrew
