Can a Global Field have a lookup?

Hello

I was using a text field to contain data that was looked up from another file. This means I would have to put the information in one record if there is no way to have a global field.

I was wondering if it is possible to have a global field look up from another file or is there a workaround for this.

Would a calculation based on the relationship serve you as well? Use the same relationship used with the lookup.
