I need to run a countdown timer in an solution I am developing but it does not need to stop/pause when another script is called. Is there a plug-in that will provide this functionality or is there a way I can't think of?

Version: v5.x

Platform: Mac OS 9

Only one script ever runs at a time. The countdown script will by necessity be paused (or even exited/halted) when another script runs.
