I have encountered a very weird effect using Send mail function in a script (FMP5.03. French edition).

If I create a script using Send mail (and only this function!) it will change values in other fields (rounding numbers!).

Has anyone been expiriencing the problem? Has anyone have a solution?

Send mail should not change any field values! It must be somehing else in the script that's doing it.

Scripted Send Mail can be a dangerous thing. One guy here at my univeristy (a wannabe FMP guru) make a script that included the send mail step, then had it call itself! The resulting infinite loop hammered the mail server and crashed it so bad it was down a couple of days. So be careful.

Yes we know this problem! Already logged it to FM USA for their development team.

Let me guess, you are using MS Outlook as e-mail client? If you don't use 'Outlook's address book' (in your profiles) you will have a workaround until FM comes with their solution.

The source of this problem is in our Country settings! We use the period as digit grouping symbol and the comma as a decimal symbol. (if you reverse the problem is also gone ...)

As soon as the 'Send mail' is launched all the figures from the decimal part are dropped/lost and you end up with wrong calc's !!!!

And, sorry, FM 5.5 still has this BIG error ...
