PDF to email automation

Featured Replies

Hi guys.

I am in the process of putting together a proposal to my boss to buy FileMaker 7 so I can create a quotation system for them.

I was wondering if anyone can tell me if it is possible to create script to print a layout into a pdf and attach to an email? Or would I have to buy a plugin? If this is the case, which plug-in is the best suited?

Cheers

Version: v7.x

Platform: Windows 2000

Loop

Print

Send Mail

Go to Record/Request/Page [ Next; Exit after last ]

End Loop

This script would allow you to loop through the current found set and print each layout to pdf (assuming you have acrobat or equivalent). Then you could use the send mail step to send an email and attach each pdf. Each pdf would have the same name, but different content. If you want to dynamically name the pdfs, you would need something like the Troi file plugin. If you need more sophistication with email than the send mail script step provides, look up SMTPit, POPit, or MAILit.

Of course you'll want to make sure that these plugins are updated for FMP7 before buying them...

Hi!

Check out our PDF plugin, it creates PDFs and sends them via email.

Please have a look at www.schubec.com

The translation of the manual is not perfect yet but will be improved over the next few days or weeks.

Thank you,
