[FP5] Printing Barcodes from FM

I have recently created an inventory type database, and am now looking for a way to print code 39 barcodes directly from one of my files. What I have come up with so far is that I need a plugin and a barcode font. Is this correct?

If so, does anyone have any recommendations for both plugins and barcode fonts?

Thanks

FileMaker Version: 5

Platform: Mac OS X Panther

Mike:

You certainly need a barcode font. In my (cross-platform) solutions I use the 3of9 font - not sure where I originally got it from...

You don't need a plugin to deal with barcodes, though. A barcode is just another font...

You can make barcodes in FM with Barcode X for Filemaker from www.peninsula-group.com.

You simply add a calculation field to your layout and attach a field and your barcodes are made.

You can adjust height, scale, size and even bar width reduction to allow for ink spread.

You can also get a cheaper bundle price with a barcode reader as well.

I have watched that tutorial, and it is quite impressive. I am having problems making it work tho. Not sure if it is because it was written for Filemaker Pro v5 and I am using 8, or if it is something else.

Has anybody esle had problems with this file?

Thanks
