Importing Tables?

Featured Replies

Is it possible to import a table into another file? I'm interested in replicating the structure of multiple tables in one file, and dread the thought of recreating all the fields over and over again. Once I set up the tables, I know I can import all the data -- I'd just love to find a way to import the table structures into one file. Any advice? Thanks.

Hello stacito,

There is no native 'import table' option. However there are a few third-party products that might be of interest to you:

Both of these products are worth a look and if you have a lot of tables they may save you a considerable amount of time. wink.gif

Ray, thanks for the response and the links. It is surprising to me that Filemaker wouldn't allow a "library" of sorts for favorite table structures that you could move in and out of different databases. As someone who is only using Filemaker to get my business running more smoothly, I may just have to recreate the tables, as I think the 3rd party software options will prove to be even more time consuming and expensive for an amateur.
