create text field content from all records?

We have a situation where we have between 115 and 250 records that we need to consolidate into one text field and then email to a client. Can this be automated?

They are all serial numbers and they need to be in a text field to be able to email them.

Just wondering how to do this short of exporting to a text file and then cuting and pasting.

Have you looked at the Copy All script step. Need a layout with only the one field showing. Do you finds and sorts and then copy all. Result is a list of data separated by returns.

Ralph's suggestion is good. Be aware, however, that FMP has a limit to the amount of text that a field can contain.

In FMP 6 and earlier the limit is 64KB which is easily exceeded if the number of records is large and the serial number string is long. FMP 7 extends this limit to 2GB, but the limit is still there.
