I would like to display information about a button when the mouse pointer is over the button. For example, say I had a button that was shaped like a right arrow. I would like it if when the pointer was placed over the right arrow, a small text box would appear and read "next record." This is similar to the feature of some applications called "help bubbles." Is this possible with fm and does anyone know how to implement it?

thanks everyone!

FileMaker Version: 7

You will need a plug in. Take a look at 24U Software. I don't know if the plugin is 7 ready or not. He has a whole suite of plugins for various things.

See Steve's answer at: http://www.fmforums.com/threads/showflat.php?Cat=&Board=UBB28&Number=100258&Forum...

FWIW, see also a related technique implemented in v6 (but also able to be implemented along similar lines in v7) in a free demo download at:

- listed under the heading "ClickTips - Pop-Up Help Feature for Layout Objects". It's filemaker native (no plug-ins required) but provides some functionality that you might find useful. wink.gif
