Using Commit to Trigger Script

Is there any way to use the new commit dialog to trigger a script? What I really want to do is perform a script when data is changed in a record rather than to rely on a button to trigger that script.

FileMaker Version: 7

Platform: Mac OS X Panther

In the present condition, I think that it is unrealizable if you have no script.
