Newbies Geoff Lewis Posted April 12, 2004 Newbies Posted April 12, 2004 Hello all from a newbie, I am attempting to construct a database from multiple excel spreadsheets. Each sheet contains titles of electronic journals with the usage statistics each journal has had per month. Because of the way users access e-journals I have usage stats for the same title but through different portals. I have discovered how to match by journal title when importing from the different sheets, but I want to add each total onto the same title. I can match by title but cannot figure how to add each seperate figure together for the complete usage total. Does anyone have an idea how to do this? Any help would be much appreciated! FileMaker Version: 6 Platform: Windows XP
GlennC Posted April 15, 2004 Posted April 15, 2004 Geoff, Not sure I understand you correctly. Are each of the different titles in seperate files/tables or are you importing them all into one file? If you can describe your structure more it will be easier to answer. For the moment, and if it helps, you can sum fields from different files/tables, just include the relationship name eg Sum(Relationship1::field x, Relationship2::field y, ....etc)
