Can somebody help me please, I'm going crazy.

I have recently upgraded to V7 and find that a summary field is not giving me the correct result.

I am working with two database files and the summary field (from the master file) is returning the value for one record only rather than the group of records. The summary field is placed on a layout in the related file.

I did not have this problem in version 5.5 and can't fathem why it would change.

Any comments would be greatly appreciated.

Hmm, strange.

Could you exact describe in which table you created the summary field and on which layout you placed the summary field? What is the relation between the two tables?

I just created a small demo with two tables: mother (which just one key: pk)

and a second table children (with a primary key: pk and foreign key: fk_motherid, a number field amount, and a summary field sumamount which is the total of amoutn. I created a relation between these two tables.

On the layout based on the mother table, I placed the summary field. These shows me the total of the related records.
