Portal Scroll Bars Missing FM7

I am a beginner on FMPro, setting up a portal to view related records in an inventory from a related file. The records and the fields I specified show up OK, but there are no scroll bars at the edge of the Portal. I can click where I think they should be, and the records precess, but its almost like there are two sets of hidden bars as they skip around. I've only been using it for 2 weeks, but the manual is so paltry, I can't figure out what I'm doing wrong.

Thanks for any help!

FileMaker Version: 7

Platform: Mac OS X Jaguar

Go to layout mode and control click on the portal. Look at the attributes for pen color and pen pattern. You can change these settings to make your portal lines show.
