Remove Host names from Host list

Hi all,

Can anyone tell me where are the host names (or ip addresses) stored when a host's DNS name or ip address is added permanently to the host list (or) How can I get rid of a host name that was added to the host list.

For FileMaker Pro 5 on my Windows 2000 Professional machine the file is fmhosts.txt in my profile folder. Search your C: drive for it - you can add or remove entries within the file.

Firstly, sorry for getting back so late. Secondly, I scanned my whole drive, but could not find any file by that name or any other text file that would contain the host name.

Maybe FM 6 stores the hosts information in some other format. But if fmhosts.txt is set to hidden it will not show up in a search. Try looking directly in your profile - for Windows 2000 the file is found here and it may be the same path in XP -

C:Documents and SettingsUSERNAMEApplication DataFileMakerFileMaker Pro5.0

Yes, fond it. The file was in the Hidden folder, Application Data.
