Newbies DRH Posted April 24, 2004 Newbies Share Posted April 24, 2004 I have 6 Unlimited and last year was able to uses Hosts to access databases from another machine. I haven't needed to do this for a few months, and now the Hosts list is empty, even when specifying the IP for the host machine. The only change I can think of is that Panther was installed on the host machine, upgraded from Jaguar. The databases themselves (probably 8 or so) have been unused and unchanged in the last few months. They're still multi-user, TCP/IP, etc. I'm not sure this is Panther related, it's just the most recent major change. Any suggestions? Newbies Blutooth Posted December 6, 2004 Newbies Share Posted December 6, 2004 I have a similar problem but my files are hosted on an xserve running FM Server 5.5. I fixed the problem by running the 6.0v4 Updater but have now found that the Hosts field will not show any hosts and the Open button remains dimmed. It could be a feature whereby the button does not enable unless a valid hosted file is found of course. I can see the files locally but not from outside when connected via Dialup/PPP. Could be my Firewall? Bart.
