OK spk, try this

make a relationship between shelf model and options, ie every option should have the shelf model as a field.

In the line item file, make a relationship between line item and options, based on shelf model.

Define a value list in the line item file, as follows:

give the value list a name, then select 'use values from field'; then select 'only related values', and specify the options relationship. Select 'options' under 'use values from this field'

On your data entry layout, format the options field to be a drop-down list, using the options value list.
