I have a solution that I am using a 3of9 font and I have calc. the "*" start/stop. Can anyone suggest a USB barcode reader.

I've got clients that have been using the HHP3800 reader for three years now, and they work every time, and not one of them has ever broken. VERY occasionally we have to replace the USB converter on a reader's cable (it's maybe a $10 item), but even there, in brutal factory conditions, it's only happened about five times in something like 50,000 unit-hours. The manuals are clear and the phone support is at least half-decent. I even saw a sales rep once throw the unit against a brick wall a few times and then use it, as a demonstration of how solid the thing was.

One warning - make sure you get one that's compatible with your system, as there are numerous connector versions (PS/2, USB, etc.)
