ODBC import with windows character set?

Featured Replies

Is there a way to set character set for ODBC import? The option box which is available when importing a file is grayed out when importing from ODBC source. I'm having difficulties when trying to import data from MySQL which contains scandinavian letters. If i switch character set to windows (ANSI) the scandinavian letters come right, but this can't be done with ODBC import.

Any advice?

Thanks

Using OS X 10.3.3 and FileMaker 7

Well, guess i have to do this:

import using ODBC, then export a txt file and reimport that txt file using windows character set.

And guess what, all characters are corrected ;-)

Pisses me off though to do it like this, but what can you do?

Thanks
