Our file maker files are sitting on a OS 10 server but the files are viewed on a combination of OS9 and PC machines. I had some updating to do to the files and went directly to the server to fix them. I shut down the server and opened the files in Filemaker 6 Developer. It said some files were corrupted so I proceeded to recover the files and seemed to get stuck in a loop. To fix this I decided to accessed our backup file and proceeded to transfer the files over to overwrite all files, keeping everything clean (Transfer was done with the server shut down and Developer 6 closed as well. But when I do this the last file to be transferred will not go. Filemaker says that it cannot transfer the file over because it is in use. It does this everytime. If I grab 3 files it will be the 3rd file. If I grab 6 files it will be the 6th one. Does anyone have an idea of what to do? Has anyone heard of any bugs that attach Filemaker?

You are trying to copy these in the Finder right? Have you restarted the computer? Do the backups open okay in their current location?
