Any luck using Xcode to create plugin

Featured Replies

I don't have codewarrior, but I would like to play around with the example plugin in FM7Dev. Since plugins are carbon and xcode can use the carbon api, I was hoping someone had converted the codewarrior projects to xcode projects (not sure whats involved) that can be built.

FMI thought it might be possible, and referred me to the FSA. I would like to join, but I have to convince my boss that $249 a year is worthwhile.

Anyone have experience in this regard?

As far as I know, you need CodeWarrior. XCode just doesn't compile to the CFM binary format that FM needs. But if I'm wrong, someone please let me know as I'm looking for this too.

I struggled with this for a while, but couldn't get it working.

XCode crashed when I tried to rename the output package to be ".fmx", and renaming it manually after it was built removed its "package" quality and it wouldn't load.

I'm under the impression only FM6 plug-ins need to be in CFM format, FM7 plug-ins use Carbon - but I could easily be wrong.

If someone gets this working I would also love to know - I'm continuing to use CodeWarrior for now.
