Newbies Craig12 Posted June 14, 2004 Newbies Posted June 14, 2004 Hello We are currently upgrading to seven and are looking at ways to get access to the database from another office. both these offices have good internet connection host office 2meg up and down remote offices 2meg down 512 up now is this going to be enough to use fm remotely over just tcp/ip or should we look at using something like syncdek i have heard about all the great speed improvements in server 7 but will this be enough at the moment with 6 it is painfully slow and drops the remote users every 20 mins Bye Craig
The Shadow Posted June 14, 2004 Posted June 14, 2004 Ender did some remote speed tests with the FMS preview, you can download an Excel spreadsheet with the results: http://www.fmforums.com/threads/showflat.php?Number=102146 A few people at work occasionally use our solution over a modem, and several have mentioned it is noticeably faster with FMS, FM7. I would give it a try before looking into syncing.
