Try using a self-join with your Count_A1 defined as -

Case(SomeField = SearchCriterion and Field_A = "A1", 1, "")

then use Sum(SelfJoin::Count_A1)

This assumes you have control or knowledge of the prior Find.

BTW I don't know if this is faster but suspect so.

Well..The output webpage shows the searchcriterion with this little CDML code:

 [FMP-CurrentFind][FMP-FIndFieldItem] = [FMP-FindValueItem] | [/FMP-CurrentFInd]
