Two dbs on the same layout

Featured Replies

I have two dbs (GAME and LINE-UP) linked thru the field "date". I created a layout for the GAME db and inserted the LINE-UP db thru a portal on this sane layout. It looks fine and functions correctly, with the players

Maybe it's too easy, but have you allowed entry into your portal fields?

Select field in Layout Mood:

Choose Format menu => Field Behavior => Select "In Browse mode" for "Allow field to be entered"

I have a similar problem I am working on right now, at least if I understood the original question correctly.

I need to generate a report with a potentially unbounded number of records separately listed from each of two distinct tables; in other words, I need:

HEADER

<BODY 1>

record1

record2

record3

MIDDLE-HEADER (!)

<BODY 2>

record1

record2

record3

<FOOTER>

Where the two body parts show records from different tables. I am using FM7; does anyone know how to do this?

The layout would be used almost exclusively for printouts.
