Unstable ODBC driver

Featured Replies

I am having serious trouble trying to connect to an FM7 database through ODBC from either VB6 or VB.NET.

Although the SequeLink driver appears to work OK from Access or Excel, when I try even a simple connection programmatically, I get a variety of errors or FM simply crashes.

Is anybody else having similar issues? Or conversly, is anyone able to connect to FM7 via ODBC with either VB or C++ in a stable and reliable way?

Hi Saj

I am trying to accomplish the same thing you are and am also having problems. I'm trying to write from a VB.Net application to a Filemaker Pro 7 database. I am using the DataDirect 32-BIT SequeLink 5.4 driver supplied on the Filemaker disc. I get the connection OK to the database, but I get strange results. It seems like the text writes over top of itself (it's kind of hard to describe but it would be like if you typed some text with a typewriter and then went back and typed different text over the exact same place on the page.) Basically, it renders the application useless. Any help from anyone would be greatly appreciated!

Hi,

I have been trying to connect RealBasic to FM7v2 and cannot get to see the list of Tables. The SequeLink driver is connecting. Also I am having trouble INSERTING any data with a time or timestamp. Have tried every combination and also tried working around. It is pretty poor. I must admit that I have not tried connecting with Access or Excel, I have tried RB and a standalone reporting tool. BTW I am using up2date WINXP.
