If the status area is tagged as "Hide & Lock", one can not move from one record to another in a list layout using the Control key + arrow keys (up or down). The feature to trigger a script on exiting a field requires buying a VERY expensive plugin (especially a developer's license).

Why doesn't Filemaker provide users with such a feature:

The ability to trigger a script on exiting a field.

The requirement to either use the mouse or press the CTRL/Arrow keys to move from record to record in a List layout is cumbersome at best, and downright crappy at worst.

Surely, FM can give us better navigational tools.

Perhaps there is another solution to allow users move smoothly doing heavy duty data entry in vertical colums in list layouts

For the problem off moving from one record to another:

Make a new FileMakerPro File without records.

Create a field wich will be used as a link with the database where the data is located (this field can be a calculation).

Create another field in the database you need to enter data. The linked file must have this ID in all of its records (it
