script for tally based on multiple field results

Dear Forum Gurus,

I am trying to perform calculations based upon the number of records whose field(s) meet a specific criteria. For example, I want to know how many males (of males/females) that like chocolate (of chocolate/vanilla/strawberry) enjoy horror movies (of horror/drama/comedy).

Can someone direct me in this case? I should admit that I'm not fluent in the use of global fields, which may be of use here.

thanks,

Any way you do this I think you will need to first use a find. Keep in mind that I may be wrong but this seems like the simplest way...

Run a search for the criteria that you want (e.g Male/Chocolate/Horror) Then you can either use the command 'Status ( CurrentFoundCount )' in your calculation, or if thats not possible then you could create a global field which you would set to be 'Status ( CurrentFoundCount )'

Hope this helps
