Why does filemaker insist on giving me almost 20 megs of Language and dictionary files when it builds a runtime?

Is there anyway to disable that? It's nuts.

That doesn't help nor answer my overall question.

Why does FMP insist on putting in all language files when it knows the current laugage...

Because Filemaker doesn't know what languages the user of the run time speaks.

I think you should ask the filemaker design group instead of this forum wink.gif

They are being "complete" rather than making assumptions that all the runtime users will speak English.

True but they have really gone overboard with languages in V7. Even the basic install of FMD includes a whole lot of 'foreign' language files.

Maybe I'm a bit cautious but "just delete them" sounds potentially dangerous to me. I do not like deleting files unless I KNOW what they are.

We all know that they are language & dictionary files and thus are safe to delete laugh.gif
