smilemaker Posted July 28, 2004 Posted July 28, 2004 Please help. I would like one networked computer (Filemaker 6.0) to run in a kiosk mode (for public use). The other work stations need to run in the regular mode. Is this possible? How is it done?? Thank you for any help.
Stacey Tan Posted July 30, 2004 Posted July 30, 2004 From my understanding, Kiosk mode is meant for single user mode, so the kiosk mode cannot share the data with the regualar mode user. However, if you actually meant for the kiosk mode to run indenpendently, you can just drop the exe directory in a shared drive, on a different directory from the regular mode ones. Hope this help.
RalphL Posted July 30, 2004 Posted July 30, 2004 Kiosk mode is not to be confused with runtime. Kiosk mode only shows up in only when the privileges do not allow extended privileges or do not allow modification of layouts, value lists & scripts. An alternate is the SecureFM plug-in from NMCI. You can remove all menus and it gives a kiosk appearence. It gives you much more control.
