At any rate i get the following error message and I have no idea how to rectify the situation. I have removed all headers/footers and didnt really use them to begin wtih....

'The combined size of the header plus the footer is longer then what can fit this page. To print, first make the header of footer shorter or use longer paper'

That sounds like a corrupt layout. Make a copy of the file. Using the copy make a new layout from the beginning do not copy anything from the current layout. Delete the problem layout. If this does not work the file may be corrupt.
