Hello all !

I have problem with converted files from v. 6 to v. 7. It seems to me that Get ((portalRowNumber) function is not working properly. It always get me "0". Anyone can confirm that this is a bug ??

Hi tactic,

It works for me. Remember, you have to be in a portal row for it to return a number other than 0, and you can't use it in active field calculations. It's really meant for scripting. If you're doing all that, then maybe you could give us the script code that preceeds its use. Or if you're trying to use it in a calc field, maybe you can explain what you're really trying to do an someone will have a solution.

Hello tactic,

Since you've indicated that your solution used the equivalent function in v6 successfully, then clearly it is not being used in a calculation, as ender suggests. Such a method woudl fail with equal consistency in versions 6 and 7. I therefore assume that you are using the function within a script which worked in v6 but does not work in v7.

As you're likely aware, the behavior of a number of script steps has subtly altered in v7. The process of conversion attempts to correct for this - sometimes by adding Commit Record/Request steps at strategic places, or making other like changes which may cause the record to be exited where it was not explicitly exited in v6.

One possibility is that after the conversion process for this or a similar reason, your script is losing focus (ie the record is exited) prior to the point at which the Get(PortalRowNumber) function is being evaluated.

At any rate, that is the first thing to check for. wink.gif
