Deleting found records within a script

Featured Replies

I'm trying to automate deleting records from appointment database. In my script I am using copy/paste to insert the contents of a serial number field from a related database into the related field in the main database during find mode.

I want to delete any records in my main database that have that same serial number. The find part works properly, but when I try to create a loop deleting all the found records, it deletes only one. Any advice would be much appreciated! This one has me tearing my hair out!

Loop

Enter Find Mode[]

Paste [select, "serial number"]

Perform Find []

Delete Record/Request [No dialoge]

Go to Record/Request/Page [Exit after last, Next]

End Loop

Hi Christian,

There is an easy answer. It is the ScriptMaker step called Delete All Records.

Test it out on a backup till you get comfortable! tongue.gif" border="0

Good luck!

Thanks Andrew!

It works! I don't think I would have had the nerve to try that! Thanks a million! These things always turn out to be simple solutions.

Cheers,

Christian
