"Error occurred; unable to open file"

Friends - I administratively closed a FMP 5.5 file on the server, removed it to my desktop, modified it, and put it back on the server. When I try to administratively open the file I receive error message "Error Occurred;unable to open file".

FilmMaker says the resolution of this issue is; "The cloned database must be opened at least one time in FileMaker Pro to set the necessary attributes".

I assumed that opening the file on my desktop would do the trick. However, I'm getting the same error message? The only solution I've found is to reboot the server (not a good way to keep friends). My modified files come up as 'open', after IT reboots the server? Must be a better way?

Help appreciated - Bob
