I suggest that you try the SMTPit plug-in from

www.comm-unity.net

It gives you full control over emailing from filemaker including specifying attachement files.

You can download a demo from their website.

I am trying to fumble around in applescript and scriptmaker to allow a remote user to 1. Find a specific record 2. press a button called "e-mail this file to me" at that point I want filemaker to tell the mac to find the file whose name matches a field and email the file to the user. Can anyone give me a starting point or show me where I can find good refernce material as to how this can be done?
