Reed Posted August 12, 2004 Posted August 12, 2004 So I'm using ODBC to import a table of accounts from SQL Server. I want my FM table to be a mirror of the SQL Sever system. The obvious choice is to use the acct_id primary key field as the match for updating records. Also, there is a preference for creating new records when non-matching (new) records are created in the SQL system. The problem comes up when records are deleted from the SQL server table. This doesn't cause records in my local table to be deleted. Importing doesn't seem to trigger record modification timestamps to change either. So how can I easily delete only records that are deleted from the remote table? Any input on this is greatly appreciated. Dana
Reed Posted August 12, 2004 Author Posted August 12, 2004 I forgot to mention that I don't want to have to delete all records and reimport because I have related records in a join table that I don't want to orphan.
Newbies sergio giaconi Posted August 13, 2004 Newbies Posted August 13, 2004 a possible solution is to create another table in FM7 (o another file in FM6) with only the key, delete and import record every time, then link this file with the old one in relation and perform what you want.
