Import Folder fails (not enough mem) on .psd file

Featured Replies

Trying to wrangle some flexibility out of the the IMPORT FOLDER option of FMPv7 with image imports. It has some nice features (creating a thumbnail, and just a reference to the file), but has some inflexibilities also (why can't I import 1 image with thumbnail generated -without having to alter my folder structure?).

Anyhow, loading in 1000 or so images in various formats (TIFF, JPG, PSD) using IMPORT FOLDER option, and am finding that every now and then that the import will terminate with a Filemaker error message Sorry, there is not enough memory to complete this operation. Doesn't say what file, but I can work it out through elimination.

Here are the facts:

* I am only importing IMAGE REFERENCES

* Fails only on .psd files of small size (<25MB).

* Has succesfully imported hundreds of other PSD files of larger size.

* The same files trip it up each time.

Anyone had this problem? Could you see any rhyme or reason?

Is there a better way/plugin/tool to do this..?

Thanks for your help. I am pulling hair out now..

Cheers,

Justin
