There are a number of commercial FMP based solutions that do this type thing, including the standardized state and Federal reports. I'll see if I can find some URL's and pos them.

I built a school attendance solution in FileMaker a couple of years ago. Demographics are integrated with a weekly classroom calendar interface. Reports can be generated for user-selected time periods. Email me and I can send you a demo copy.
