When I create a new record?

I wrote a script that takes a list of dates from one database and creates a new record for each date in another. It all works fine, but each time a new record is created, there is about a ten-fifteen second delay while the program checks the floppy drive THREE TIMES!

I haven't seen anything in the documentation about this...but it is driving me crazy, not to mention wasting several minutes as it compiles these records.

Any suggestions to get around this would be appreciated. Thanks!
