Newbies CeruleanBlu Posted August 25, 2004 Newbies Posted August 25, 2004 Can someone explain why you need to make a new extension with every new runtime solution? I don't understand why this doesn't confuse the other applications. Isn't there a "standard" group of extensions to use instead of making them up? I need to make several runtime solutions of old filmaker archives, each needs to be a stand alone file.
QuinTech Posted August 25, 2004 Posted August 25, 2004 Hi, Katie, and welcome to FM Forums! Sometimes it does confuse other applications. See DysktrL's responses to this post. usr is a pretty common extension to use, mostly because it's the default. I've noticed usr files being used by Corel for something called, if i remember right, PerfectExpert, but this is not a common application in my experience. If you want to separate each of your solutions by extension, you might try usa, usb, usc (no wait-- NOT USB!!), usd, ... Also, check out TechTarget for an extension reference that might help you. HTH, Jerry
