I'm new to FileMaker, so this may be basic, but I couldn't find any good documentation on it.

I have an application that tracks hours of operations for airports. Some may only be open certain months, days and hours, so within each month I have the days of the week that it's open and the hours during that day. This makes for a lot of fields and could be tedious data entry to update, so I'm trying to speed things up by giving the user checkboxes on global variables so they can check off, for instance: All Months, Mon-Fri, 9-5 and then click an "Apply" button which will perform a script to go into the database fields and, in this case, apply the time of 9-5 to the Monday through Friday records for all months.

What I need to know is what is the best way to find out which months and days are checked off in each variable. The values for the 'vMonths' global variable in JAN, FEB, etc. and the 'vDays' global variable are MON, TUE, etc.

Also, what would you recommend for a book or other resource that describes each function in detail, giving multiple examples? I have only limited success with the Filemaker Help.
