Linked list view to detail view

Hi,

I've been trying to create a simple list view were the items in the list actively link to a detail view of the record. I've use a layout with a transparent button behind the fields however I only get one record showing.

Next I tried creating a new "list/report" from the layout menu, I get all the records to show but I can't get the button to work.

I've tried to understand what I'm doing wrong by looking at the "business tracker" file were I got the idea of switching between a list and a detail view and I'm missing something.
