How do I lock a number field that has an auto enter calculation so it is un modifiable, either by user tampering or changes in the calculation after the first value is set?

Under File->Define Fields, select the specific field. It should be set to "Auto-enter" right? then select "Options". On the "AutoEnter" tab you should see, right at the bottom, a checkbox for "Prohibit modification of value". Toggle it on, click OK, then Done, and you should be good to go.
