Here is a question concerning power outages. We have been having a few lately. I just bought a new APC UPS. It can connect the the server via USB cable. It can then safely shut down the server before the battery runs dry. But because FM Server is not applescript compatible, how would I go about being able to tell FM Server to stop serving the files, thus avoiding file corruption before the server shuts down?

Also, what about automating FM Server to start serving files once the server is re-started?

Not sure what version of FileMaker Server you are using, but I have this working on OS 10.3 with Server 5.5 and an APC UPS 500. I don't remember how the system tells FM Server to shutdown (maybe it just does when a shutdown is initiated?) Anyways, it seems to work.

I do startups manually, so I can make sure everything checks out okay.
