Hi

I am working at an auction. We have a VALUE LIST to indicate all the positions of the possible sales.

A1- A200. We have another place where this list is used. A1-A200 - it is all those items registered.

We use this now. If there is a check box selected next to the item - it means it is sold. But I need some way on the same field to show those entries which are registered. I wanted to change the color of those that were SOLD to green. (Just the text) But since we don't register to all slots ,I wanted to change the color of the text of those registered to brown. Is this possible?

Hello

Yes it is familiar because it is similar but this new question involves a VALUE LIST> I am trying to find a way to change colors of certain entries in a value list. I have enclosed a file to illustrate.

Ah, i see. I'm not a version 7 user yet, so don't take my word for it, but i'm pretty sure you can't change the color on items in a value list. You may have to kludge this with a portal instead.

Is the value list ina drop down , cuz if so I bet the at can not be changed, BUT just show your value list in a portal, beside it's easier to select from when it doesn't keep closing on you.

To get it into the portal you will have to populate the portal rows in a looping script, hmmm actually I bet you can make some kind on calc that gets valuelist word (x) where x is the portal row, then you just create so many rows.

anyways

nada to drop down colors yada the portal pickers

It's on a checkbox, Charles, which certainly makes our job easier! (After however many years, i still don't enjoy working with portals. crazy.gif ) I suggested Stann use an overlay on his checkbox field that evaluates to the selected item name and the appropriate color depending on whatever conditions he has.
