Security Problem

What I have is multiple databases compiled in Developer to make a program we give to our agents. What I need is for us to send a text file to them (along with the ones we already send them with their data) and checks that file for a code (or anther form of data maybe) and if it does not match exit out of the program. I am not familiar with Developer to add another database to the application to handle this. I am following behind someone who left that created this product. Does anyone have any ideas of how to do this? I do know how to import that file into a field without changing how the database already reads data from another text file.
